My Story
Alexander Hardin was born and raised in the small town of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He spent his youth being in Christmas pageants and belting Disney Princess songs, his mother says he could sing before he could talk– they could tell what he was singing by the melody, not the words!
Having been onstage since the age of 3, this was just a normal part of life, and it took a special spark to light the flame that would become Alexander’s future career; and at age 10 that spark was Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton. Much in the way that show redefined Musical Theatre as a whole, it spelled out Alexander’s future– in his name and his career path. He has worked hard for this dream, but wouldn’t have made it to New York City without the help of his loving parents who were his biggest supporters from day one.
His mother uprooted her life to allow him to be enrolled at the only arts high school in their state: New Mexico School for the Arts, which allowed him to really begin honing his craft from 2020 onward. His father supported him financially and emotionally through those years and continues to. Through his high school he found the audition opportunity for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy– and that was his in.
He was accepted to the Conservatory Integrated Program, and began his move to the big city– 8 hours worth of flying from the airport back home. AMDA enabled him to find the love of dancing he hadn’t yet gained that now matches his long-standing love for singing and acting. He has been working hard at the college since 2024, and graduated from the program in June of 2026. Alexander has been dedicated to the art of Musical Theatre and Acting for half of his life now, and intends to give the rest of his life to his craft as a professional actor and working artist.
